This policy applies to both the Florida Angus Association (FAA) and the Florida Junior Angus Association (FJAA) sections of our website.

A. Account & Membership Information
When you create an account or purchase a membership, we may collect:

- Username and encrypted password
- Membership level and status (FAA, Allied, Sponsor, FJAA, etc.)
- Farm or company name
- Mailing address
- Phone number
- Profile photo (optional)
- Farm/company profile description
This information allows us to manage memberships, provide member services, and maintain association directories.
B. Youth & FJAA Information
For Florida Junior Angus Association (FJAA) memberships, additional information may be collected, including:
- Child’s name
- Child’s date of birth
- Child’s email address (required for account creation; families may use shared formats such as
parent+child@gmail.com)
In some cases (such as FJAA Family memberships), a parent or guardian submits information on behalf of a minor. For FJAA Individual memberships, the individual submits their own information.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13 without parental or guardian involvement. Parents and guardians are responsible for the accuracy of any youth information they submit.
C. Orders, Payments & Commerce
When you place an order or make a purchase, we collect:
- Order details
- Billing name and email
- Purchase history
We do not store full credit card numbers.
All credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link payments are processed securely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Some payments may also be made by check.
D. Uploaded Files (Advertising)
Members who purchase advertising may upload artwork files. These files are stored securely and used only for fulfilling advertising services. Uploaded files may be reviewed by FAA administrators and linked to the associated order.
E. Technical & Usage Data
Like most websites, we automatically collect limited technical data, including:
- IP address
- Browser and device information
- Cookies used for login sessions and site functionality
This data is used to operate and secure the website and is not used for advertising purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage user accounts
- Process memberships, orders, and payments
- Verify eligibility for youth memberships
- Provide access to member-only content and directories
- Communicate transactional information (orders, account changes, uploads)
- Fulfill advertising and event-related services
- Maintain accurate association records
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
3. Email Communications
The website sends transactional emails only, such as:
- Account activation and password changes
- Order confirmations and updates
- Membership-related notifications
- Advertising artwork upload confirmations
We do not currently send marketing or promotional emails. If this changes in the future, opt-in choices will be provided.
4. Membership Directories & Information Sharing
FAA maintains membership directories to support networking and business connections.
- FAA, Allied, Sponsor, and Board member profiles may be publicly visible.
- FJAA member profiles are NOT publicly visible and are accessible only to FJAA members and authorized administrators.
- Members may choose to limit or opt out of directory visibility where options are provided.
The purpose of the directory is to allow farms and businesses to be contacted by potential customers and partners. We do not sell member information to third parties.
5. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate our website, including:
- Stripe (payment processing)
- Web hosting and email delivery providers
- WordPress plugins required for membership, events, and site functionality
These providers only receive information necessary to perform their services and are required to protect it.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information as long as:
- An account or membership remains active
- Required for operational, legal, or financial record-keeping
When information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized where possible.
7. Your Rights & Choices
You have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data
- Request corrections to inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal and record-keeping requirements)
